How we handle website enquiries and customer information.

Information we collect
When you enquire, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, company, telephone number, property postcode, service required and message. We also retain related correspondence and, where work proceeds, quotation and job records. Our hosting provider may process technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser details to deliver and secure the website. Please do not submit access codes or unnecessary sensitive information.
How and why we use it
We use your information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange and manage work, and maintain relevant business records. Where you personally request a quotation or enter a contract, we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract or performing that contract. For business representatives and general enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interests in communicating with potential customers and providing our services. We rely on legal obligations where records must be retained by law, and legitimate interests in protecting the website and handling disputes. Required form fields allow us to understand and respond to your request; without sufficient information we may be unable to do so. We do not use enquiry details to send marketing emails.
Who receives your information
We use Netlify for website hosting and enquiry form processing, and IONOS for business email. Submitted enquiries are stored through Netlify and emailed to our business inbox. Where needed to assess or carry out work, relevant information may be shared with the specialists involved. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal obligations or claims. We limit sharing to what is needed for the relevant purpose.
Processing outside the UK
Netlify and its service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Netlify’s data processing terms describe the applicable transfer safeguards, including contractual safeguards where required. See Netlify’s privacy information. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are kept for up to 12 months after the last substantive contact, then deleted, unless a specific legal obligation or ongoing dispute requires longer retention. This covers enquiry records and related email correspondence. Where an enquiry becomes a job, we retain relevant records for the duration of the work and afterwards only as necessary for accounting and tax requirements, warranties, contractual obligations or legal claims. The period depends on the type of record and applicable obligation.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of use or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions. Contact us using the email above to exercise your rights. We do not use your enquiry information for solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and website tools
The website code does not include advertising trackers or optional analytics scripts. Hosting and security services may process technical information to operate and protect the site. If we add optional tracking or marketing tools, we will update this notice and request consent where required.
